We had the time of our lives at LeakyCon, and we still can’t quite believe it’s over. Since we don’t have a time turner, here are just a few of our favorite memories from LeakyCon 2014:
1. Open at the Close gave 1,500 wizards a night in Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley.Between riding the Hogwarts Express, drinking butterbeer in the Leaky Cauldron, and taking on the Gringotts goblin coaster, experiencing the Wizarding World with our fellow fans was unforgettable.

2. The first annual HPA vs. LeakyCon staff Quidditch Showdown was awesome. In the most canon game of quidditch ever, LeakyCon caught the snitch but a significant lead meant our staff won.

3. Snitchwiches became an underground operation. Upon being shut down by the OCCC, our favorite wizard food vendors enlisted a team executing under-the-table sales and late-night BRoom Service deliveries so they could keep selling.

4. Wizards (and some muggles) rocked the mainstage. This year’s lineup included our Executive Director as part of Harry and the Potters, our Chapters Director in The Whomping Willows, and our friend Steph Anderson of Tonks and the Aurors inciting a Huffleriot.

5. Hank Green got the video call of a lifetime. With the help of the amazing LeakyBand, a Hank Green cosplayer, and a couple thousand Nerdfighters, Harry and the Potters led the biggest rendition of Accio Deathly Hallows ever as Hank watched via Hangout.

6. The Apparating Library made its return to LeakyCon. Almost a thousand books were swapped. We even saw some books return from the library’s first appearance at LeakyCon London!

7. We celebrated Esther Day with the community we love. From thousands of people holding hand hearts high at midnight during the Esther Earl Charity Ball to postcards at the closing ceremonies, we celebrated the power of love to change the world. Check out some other ways people celebrated Esther Day this year.

We’re so thankful for LeakyCon – not just for their continual support of the HPA, but for this annual opportunity to celebrate with our community. It goes without saying that we’re already counting down to GeekyCon 2015.
The Weapon We Have Is Love. See you next year!
